As sole proprietor and principal interpreter for CIS with a lifelong interest in serving Deaf people, I have dedicated myself to supporting professionals since 1988.
Services
Call the interpreter to schedule the appointment. If possible, meet beforehand so you have the opportunity to exchange any necessary information. There may be the need to clarify unique vocabulary, technical terms, acronyms, and/or jargon. Provide interpreter with any written materials ahead of time.
Many theaters across the nation, including Regal Theater, offer closed-captioning as deaf movie goers can now request special glasses that provide this accessibility. As one of the nation's select theaters, our local Regal Theater at Moraine Point in Butler now offers captioning 7 days a week. What's more, hard-of-hearing patrons can now boost the volume to suit their needs. Show your appreciation and help support our local theater by spreading the good news now that going to the movies is enjoyable for all.
Question: Will I need to provide a copy of every handout to the interpreter this semester? Answer: Yes, when distributing instructional materials to be referenced during a lecture, offer one to the interpreter as well. Your course outline will be especially helpful as interpreters will follow reading assignments to prepare.
We appreciate the opportunity to provide on site and in-person professional Sign Language Interpreting services as you provide accommodations to deaf consumers in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the more recent Pennsylvania Act 57. At CIS, you can be certain that you are securing a professional with the proper licensure.
