Ruann L. Wood, owner is a nationally certified (RID: NIC) American Sign Language interpreter through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and is a regular contributor to their professional publication entitled the RID VIEWS. She is a graduate of Portland Community College (PCC) in Portland, Oregon with a degree in ASL interpretation. Prior to that she attended a two year deaf studies program at Chattanooga State Community College, and is a current student at Tennessee Temple University pursuing her Bachelor's degree in ASL interpretation with a future goal of teaching classes and workshops on business ethics within the profession of interpreting.

Ruann has six years of professional interpreting experience. She continues to hone her skills through social interaction with the local deaf community as well as with continuing education via workshops and online classes. Ruann has chosen to devote herself personally and professionally to living and working with integrity, excellence and respect, exhibiting a smile and kind words about and to everyone. Ruann knows that without the deaf community our faithful customers and dedicated professional interpreters, VCI would not exist.
